BlackBerry 7.1 OS Will Extend BlackBerry Battery Life
Some of new features embedded in BlackBerry 7.1.0.247 operating system, one of which features to extend BlackBerry battery life.
It is said that the latest update of this Research In Motion (RIM) not only adds a few new native applications, but also a special feature that they call Battery Saving Mode.
With this feature BlackBerry users provides feature to customize the lowest battery consumption, or want to maximize the full potential BlackBerry but with effects that quickly drains the battery.
The OS 7.1 was tested on BlackBerry 9790 device, but will also be available for the BlackBerry 9900. Unfortunately, the release schedule of the operating system is not yet known or a handset that will be upgraded to BlackBerry 7.1.0.247 OS.

I bought a Bold 9790, having used a Curve 8900 for the last 2 years. The problem with Bold 9790 is that the battery life is bad and the handset gets hot when used. The battery is drained within 4 to 5 hours using it for texting to & fro my office and this after it was fully charged. We do shuttling and tours, so the office sends one’s pick ups through texting. So I cannot afford to be without a working mobile. It gets worse when one gets calls, then it starts heating up and the battery drainage starts excellarating. I am frustrated and disappointed because the Curve 8900 would last me 2.5 days with calls, internet and texting. One expects the new mobile sets to progress and improve with reliability but this is the opposite. Please help us, I am a Blackberry biggest fan and user, but this is frustrating.
